A Letter to everyone who loved “wolf”

If you're reading this, you probably knew Craig — or you knew of him. Maybe you cheered for #73 in the trenches at Three Rivers Stadium. Maybe you heard his voice on the radio on game day and felt like you were right there on the sidelines with him. Maybe you sat across from him at a Light of Life dinner, or trained alongside him, or simply knew him as a man who made everyone around him feel seen, valued, and loved.

However Craig touched your life — I want you to know that you mattered to him. Every single one of you.

Craig Wolfley — our Wolf — left this world on March 10, 2025. And in the months since, our family has asked ourselves the same question over and over: how do we make sure the world doesn't forget what he stood for?

Wolf911 is our answer.

Born from love and built on faith, Wolf911 exists to carry Craig's heart forward — into the lives of veterans who need support, children facing adversity, and homeless families searching for hope. It's not a memorial. It's a mission. Because that's exactly what Craig would have wanted — not flowers, but action. Not tears, but service.

Craig used to say that faith without works is dead. He didn't just believe that — he lived it every single day. In the gym, on the field, behind the microphone, and most powerfully — in the community he loved so deeply.

Wolf911 is our family's promise to keep those works alive.

I am Faith Wolfley — Craig's partner in life and death for over 33 years, a United States Air Force veteran, a mother, and now the Founder and Executive Director of Wolf911. I am joined on this journey by our entire family — Megan, Kyle, Craig Jr., Maximos, Esther, and Hannah — and by our six precious grandchildren who will grow up knowing exactly who their grandfather was and what he stood for. Our family board of directors — Craig Jr. as Vice President, my sister Christina Plumtree as Secretary, and Maximos as Treasurer — are committed alongside me to ensuring Wolf911 honors Craig's legacy with everything we have.

We are just getting started. But we are already moving — and we would love nothing more than for you to move with us.

He and his beloved friend and teammate Tunch Ilkin would walk the streets of Pittsburgh together, stopping on corners to pray over our city and the people in it. That spirit of faithful, fearless prayer is woven into everything Wolf911 is and does.

And above all — keep Wolf's spirit alive by serving someone who needs it.

That's what he would do.
